 The Calgary Zoo holds a lot of memories for me and Brian has loved going each time we've traveled to see my Dad. Our summer 2022 trip was no different. While eating breakfast and prepping for our day at the Zoo one small email seems to have changed our course. "HOLY FUCK!" Brian yelled while looking at his phone. I remember staring daggers at him for using that language in Dad and Lanie's kitchen and at breakfast! One rule in the Chacho house is no f-bombs in the kitchen! Turns out his sudden expletive was warranted. I assumed someone had died but as I read his phone, which he had outstretched to me with shaking hands, death was most certainly not the cause.  It was from the US Navy.  Welcome to what I hope will be a chronicle of our many adventures! The impetus for this blog is our pending move to Italy for a few years. In summer 2021, the Alaska tour industry was still shutdown so we decided to check a few states off our list that we would not normally visit. While posting about our Southern Roadtrip, our niece Jamie, enthusiastically said I should blog about our adventures. A year late, and a few adventures since, I figured I'd give it a go! I feel like travel has been a part of my identity forever. With Dad working in the airline industry, the idea of getting on airplanes and venturing to new places has always been a part of my life. They funded multiple school trips oversees and have always encouraged me to step out and see the world.
